We all love shopping. And there are things we buy when we really need it and at times we end up shopping unnecessary things at a mall to just kill time. And we will always have a never ending shopping list.
Let us see some of the tips and tricks to keep more of our hard earned money in our pocket while shopping smartly:
- Make shopping list – before we go for the shopping make a shopping list of all that is required to be bought from the store. And ensure to buy only those things that are listed. It helps us from the impulsive purchase of unnecessary things.
- Shop smartly – Check the price tag of the things correctly and compare the prices of similar items wisely. This can be best done while doing online shopping.
- Buy things that you really need – Ensure you buy things that are very necessary for you. Ask yourself before buying how often would you use the product, durability of the product and how would you be able to avoid buying it and use the things you already have.
- Take limited amount to the shop – You will not be able to spend money if you don’t have. So when you go out for shopping put a small amount in the wallet to cover all the things you are planning to buy.
- Don’t go out for shopping when bored – We make the silliest purchases when we go out to the shopping malls to kill the time. But we may end up buying unnecessary things. Instead try to go to open park, library or a friend’s house.
- Pick your shopping buddies wisely – Shopping with a shopaholics make you spend on things that may not be relevant. Instead choose a friend who would give you an honest opinion and won’t pressurize you to buy unnecessary things.
- Online shopping – Try finding cheaper deal online. Check the online sites frequently for a discounted deals and you would get the things delivered to the door step.
- Buy second hand goods – Try to buy the second hand goods like the old furniture, used books, etc. This way you would save money on new products and get cheaper deals.
- Try making it before buying it – If you are good at making something’s, like DIY jewellery or home décor items, try making it instead of buying it.
- Sale sale sale – Never be seduced to sales. You don’t have to buy more things because they are on sale. Check the items on sales and buy it only if really liked it and use them.
- Shop out of season –Shop things when they are out of season. Like shop for winter clothes at the end of winter season. That way you will get the material at the lower cost since the shops will try to sell off the winter clothes to be replaced with the next season clothes.
- Save receipts – Don’t throw the receipts away until you use the product. You never know you might change your mind after the purchase and end up returning or exchanging it.
